Ofsted inspectors rate Dinotots Childcare Good within only 8 weeks of registration

A BLYTH children’s day nursery has been rated GOOD following its first Ofsted inspection only 8 weeks from registration

Dinotots Childcare Ltd, based in Elliott Street, Blyth celebrated its 8th week of registration with Ofsted as a full day care setting by having a full inspection on the newly released framework and achieving a Good rating by the inspectors across all areas.

Mark Chapman, Managing Director of the nursery that has only been open since 2nd September 2019, said that the rating was “a massive achievement for all the staff.”

He said “with the amendments to the Framework for inspections only being released in September we were initially unsure how the newly employed team members would adapt.

“We chose the team due to their high qualifications, dedication to caring for children and their fun and happy dispositions and although over the past 8 weeks we have recognised how hard our amazing team works it is wonderful to have that officially acknowledged by Ofsted.

We have been overwhelmed by the continual support of our parents and we are all absolutely ecstatic. We are very proud of our wonderful children, without whom this success would not be possible.”

In the report, which took place on 24 October 2019, the inspector observed that children have very positive and nurturing relationships with staff, parents are provided with good-quality information and that the staff plan an exciting range of activities that engage children and motivate them to learn.

Karen Reid, Dinotots Childcare’s Nursery Manager, is keen to ensure that children are exposed to the highest quality experiences and level of care – all highlighted in the report – and makes sure that she leads by example, with supportive management and a commitment to professional development.

She is particularly proud that the nursery is the first in Northumberland to adopt the new and exciting Curiosity Approach which is a modern day Approach that fits perfectly in current changing technological times. Bringing curiosity, awe and wonder into early childhood & creating the ‘thinkers & doers’ of the future.

A parent of 2 children at the nursery said: “Both of my boys love Dinotots, especially the building, it’s fab. Lots of exciting things to do…Lovely friendly staff and a lovely place to go”

Mark concluded by saying “Although we are still in the early days we will continue our amazing level of care for the children and strive to be the very best setting in the area. With this in mind we are already well on the way to a number of further achievements including, but not limited to, the Millie’s Mark award for outstanding paediatric first aid provision”
